Alices' Curious Labyrinth
Tucked away, right at the far end of Disneyland, Paris, through Snow White's castle and beyond the whirling teacups, is a very curious place indeed. To go through the entrance is to be immediately plunged into a maze full of wonderment. This is Disneyland's physical embodiment of their animated Alice film entitled "Alices' Curious Labyrinth".

Go straight ahead, then take a sharp left and, almost hidden in the hedge, you'll find a tiny door. Here, some six months before posing for the photographs which make up our Alice adaptation elsewhere on the website, is Annie Louise heading through it enroute to her first venture into Alice country.

The maze is inhabited by all of the Disney "Wonderland" characters. Down to the left is the Caucus Race. The path spirals downwards, helter-skelter-style and there at the bottom, perched on a revolvable rostrum is the Dodo, resplendent in his "Treasure island" landed gentry finery and complete with clay pipe.

Go back up the spiral path from the Caucus race and, straight ahead and below the Cheshire Cat flower feature, is a super set piece featuring the Caterpillar, astride his mushroom and holding the familiar hookah pipe. He's animated, with smoke puffing from his mouth. You remember that you're in France at this point as he speaks the film dialogue, but all in French.

As with all areas of Disneyland, appropriate music is ever-present via the superb sound system. In this case, give the Dodo's rostrum a push and, as it revolves, you can run around it joining in the "Caucus Race" song.
