Neco z Alenky - a film by Jan Svankmajer - 1988
Alice narrowly avoids a collision with the Rabbit who emerges unexpectedly through the painted backcloth rowing a boat. The boat rocks violently, spilling his scissors and a plate of cakes into the water. Alice eats one of the cakes and once more shrinks to a doll.
Attacked by a flock of weird birds, she clambers on top of the table, now floating in the water, and opens the drawer. Inside is a key. She paddles to the small door, unlocks it, and is swept out into the garden on a torrent of water.
Making landfall, the Alice doll collapses, wet and exhausted, to the ground. She sees the White Rabbit tying up his boat. Alice approaches him, but he mistakes her for "Mary Ann" and sends her to fetch another pair of scissors from his home. The scissors are a recurring image and they figure all the way through the film. What is he going to use them for? Don't ask, we'll find out all too soon!
Alice makes her way into what looks like a garden shed, past a cold frame (presumably with cucumbers growing inside) and looks up. The Rabbit's house is a castle made of toy bricks on top of a high table. She finds a bell-push, presses it and the table drawer opens, from which a long ladder emerges. The Alice doll starts the steep climb towards the front door.

In the Rabbit's bedroom is his collection of scissors. Alice selects a pair but also finds another bottle of ink which she drinks. At once she grows again and is now too large to get out of the room. The Rabbit rattles at the door but can't get in. He climbs up the ladder at the front of the house but Alice pushes him back and he falls into the cold frame.
The Rabbit produces a whistle, and calls up reinforcements. This is the most macabre bunch you could imagine, animals made up of fishbones, skulls with eyeballs and creatures supporting their lower bodies in milk churns. Alice manages to repel their attacks by pulling bricks off the top of the toy castle and hurling them downwards.
Bill the Lizard is called for. He has a stuffed lizard body, a white skull head and wears a Mister Punch hat. He gets up on the roof and down the chimney but Alice, of course, can "kick a little", and Bill sails through the air.
He hits the ground with a thud and the stuffing is literally knocked out of him.
The animals start throwing pebbles through the window, which turn into cakes and Alice eats one. Shrinking once more, she escapes from the house but the animals chase her. The Rabbit calls up even more weird creatures and eventually they corner her. Teetering on the edge of a can of white paint, the Alice-doll falls in.
What emerges is difficult to explain. She's grown back to full size but is now inside the shell of an Alice-size doll. Imprisoned inside the shell, she's dragged up a flight of stairs and locked in a cupboard.
