| Alice In Wonderland feature film starring Carol Marsh made in 1948 in colour |
1. The Queen arrives and chats to Dodgson, confiding that she's aware of his literary work and his pseudonym "Lewis Carroll". As she sweeps grandly into the garden, the scene, and regrettably the budget, fades out. |
2. A voice-over says that Dodgson isn't comfortable and has quietly left, taking the Liddell girls on a boat trip. Some tinkering with history here! Also, it's hardly likely he'd leave during the Queen's visit or take the girls without permission. |
3. Dodgson opines that they're better off in the boat away from all the grownups and suggests a story. The other sisters aren't totally in favour, but Alice insists he be allowed to tell it. And, as she trails her hand in the water, so it begins. |
